L a Grange star cornerback Bravion Rogers is one of the most highly-recruited Leps players ever, and he has verbally committed to play for Texas A&M after getting offers from most of the major programs in the nation. In a few weeks Rogers will get to show the nation his skills as he competes in the Under Armour High School All-American game in Orlando, Florida. The game will be broadcast at 2 p.m. Jan. 3 on ESPN.

Friday, during a ceremony at the La Grange High School gym, Rogers was officially presented his jersey for the game by La Grange head coach Matt Kates.

Kates read a statement from the bowl organizers detailing the history of the 14-year event (which has included such NFL stars as Kyler Murray and Julio Jones). Among athletes selected to play in this high school all-star game almost 300 have gone on to play in the NFL and 79 have been first round draft picks.

Rogers thanked Jesus, his coaches and teammates, teachers and family before taking lots of photos with the crowd that attended the event.

“Thank you for supporting me,” Rogers said.

Rogers played through injuries much of this fall’s season, but was still a big force offensively and defensively for the Leps.

“This coaching staff and his teammates are proud of Bravion, and we know the best is yet to come,” Kates said.
