Mystery Solved At Round Top Family Library

The mystery surrounding the Margot Fonteyn paver in the sidewalk in front of the Round Top Family Library has been solved. In case you missed the initial telling about the mystery in the pages of The Record earlier this year, here’s a brief synopsis: Libby Lovejoy, local dancer and producer of The Nutcracker Ballet at Festival Hill, noticed an unusual paver in the sidewalk in front of the library every time she attended Monday yoga classes with instructor, Betty Melton.

Celebrating the Music of The Frogs, LG’s Historic Singing Society

This Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16, Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites will host presentations exploring the music of “Die Fröesche” or “The Frogs,” a 19th-century German-Texan singing group from La Grange. The programs will explore how these music societies, much like the Bluff Schuetzenverein, shaped the history and culture of the local community and will include music samples from the group’s songbooks.

Retirement from the Diaconate Celebration for Deacon John & Eileen McCourt

In thanksgiving for the 17 years of serving Queen of the Holy Rosary and Sts. Peter & Paul Parishes, a celebration will be held on Saturday, July 29, at Hostyn. Mass is celebrated at 5 p.m., followed by a meal and dance at the Pavilion. Celebration is hosted by the Parishes and the McCourt family.
