DOPTABLE Precious is a 7-month-old female bully breed mix who has spent over 5 weeks of her short life in a kennel here at our shelter. She is at the perfect age to find a family of her own.

The annual Round Top Family Library Wrangler’s Gala was a night to remember. Set at the beautiful Windy Knoll Ranch in Round Top, over 220 guests and volunteers came together to raise money for “our little yellow rose of Texas, the Round Top Family Library.” The evening’s theme was the yellow rose. Guests arrived at 5:30 p.m. and mingled during the cocktail hour, soothed by the music of Nathan Hinojosa and Spicy Loops. During the social hour, guests were able to view the offerings in the Live Auction and to start their bidding for the Silent Auction items. In addition, there were fun opportunities available to enable attendees to support the library including a Whiskey and Wine Wall, Raffles for a Golf Cart and 3 Guns, and Adopt A Book.

Paraguayan Folk Harpist performs this Sunday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. Juan has toured and performed with various artists and prestigious venues such as: The White House, The Kennedy Center, The Hollywood Bowl, to name a few.

The LHS class of 1958 held its 65th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club.

The Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center in La Grange will host a presentation and book signing of A Summer in Spillville in 1893 on Friday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Hanslik Hall. TCHCC welcomes author Barbara Ortwein of Germany to Texas during her short tour.

As of Sept. 22, the total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 1281: 614 dogs and 667 cats in need. As of Sept. 22, the has 129 animals in care: 84 dogs/45 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.
