UT Exes Gather to Celebrate Texas Independence Day

The Fayette County Chapter of the Texas Exes organization held their annual Texas Independence Day Celebration and Dinner Wednesday March 2 at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club in La Grange. After the meal, UT professor Dr. Jim Kearney was the featured speaker. He is the author of several books on Texas history, and Kearney’s talk on March 2 focused on his book “No Hope for Heaven; No Fear of Hell: Private Justice in Colorado County” which details the decades-long bloody feud between the Townsend and Stafford families.
