Record Goes on a Service Trip to Detroit-Area

The Fayette County Record went along with a group of 14 locals from the Hostyn and Plum Catholic churches as they did a week of service work as part of Catholic Heart Work Camp last week. Those locals along with about 200 others from around the country stayed a week in the Detroit, Michigan suburb of Farmington Hills. For four days they fanned out in groups and worked at parks and at various people’s homes and other area of need. They are shown above, right, at St. Fabian’s school where they stayed during the week, and left, during a visit to downtown Detroit where they took a break to check out the magnificent art-deco lobby of The Guardian Building. The local students who went on the trip were Quade Brothers, Koen Zbranek, Maddox Wick, Reisy Janca, Haedyn Cooper, Lyla Cowan, Pharen Muniz, Marissa Muras, Paige Michalke and Kenlie Kallus. The adult chaperones were Lisa Muras, Miguel Rios, Darlene Brothers and Jeff Wick.
