Joe’s Place in Fayetteville Under New Ownership
Joe’s Place, previously owned by Joe and Lisa Simpson, is now in the capable hands of Fayetteville residents Derryl and Jessica Dennis. Devoted fans of the classic hangout won’t be disappointed that Joe’s will remain pretty much the same.
“We are pleased to announce Joe’s Place is under new ownership,” stated the Dennis’s. “We are excited and blessed to have the opportunity to carry on this beloved restaurant that Joe and Lisa began 17 years ago. The menu, hours and staff will all remain the same. Many thanks to our loyal customers, staff, family and friends. Without you, none of this would be possible. Hope to see you soon.”
Mike and Annie are still coming in hot with rockin’ tunes every Friday night at Joe’s at 8 p.m.
St. Mary Bazaar
The 74th Annual Bazaar hosted by St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger will happen this Sunday. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. a drive-thru and dine-in meal consisting of fried chicken, sausage and trimmings will be served at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall for $15 per plate. Check out the silent and live auctions, a variety booth and other fun activities. Live music will be provided by The Bandits.
Fayetteville Now Home
Marty and Elizabeth Roper enjoyed weekend trips to Fayetteville from Houston and have now made Fayetteville their home. Marty, owner of the real estate brokerage firm, Green Seed, is originally from La Grange and wanted to get back to Fayette County.
Elizabeth crafts one-ofa- kind, handmade books and cards of all sizes from colorful recycled fabric, shredded scraps, and old report cards. Check out her charming inventory at the farmer’s market on the second Saturday of the month and follow her on Instagram at thepapertramp.
Worship Services
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 - 9:45 a.m.
