Grand Prize Winner in Round Top Parade

The Do Your Duty Club, Grand Prize winner of the Round Top 176th Annual 4th of July Parade, proudly celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Featured are George Washington, first President of the United States, and his wife, Martha; Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence; Abigail Adams who famously said, “Remember the Ladies;” Betsy Ross, a 1776 Flag Maker; and Sacagawea. The centerpiece of the float is the Round Top Courthouse built by Round Top native, Larry Birkelbach. The Do Your Duty Club was founded in 1935 with the mission to care for the Round Top Courthouse and grounds. The club continues the tradition today by decorating the courthouse and square for the July 4th and for Christmas on the Square, as well as fundraising to support local organizations and to provide scholarships for students.
