City Reminds Residents to Help Reduce Mosquitoes

The City wants to remind everyone that in order to minimize mosquitos in the area, please keep grass mowed and empty containers of standing water.

Per a Fayetteville city ordinance titled “Fire Prevention and Protection Code,” fireworks are not allowed within the city limits. Go here: https://www.fayetteville.texas. gov/government/. Click on Code of Ordinances. Place “fireworks” in the search bar.

The City offices and the dump will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.

America’s 250th 

What’s happening in Fayetteville for America’s 250th? We’re pulling out all the stops and the entire celebration is packed into Friday, July 3. From 11 a.m.-5 p.m. the following activities at the Fayetteville Community Center include: a screening of the movie “National Treasure” at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., family treasure hunt with prizes, dominoes, and ping pong.

Free hot dogs, beer, wine and sodas are being served up in the square from 5:30-7 p.m. along with live tunes by Ella B and Robert Herridge, all brought to you by the City of Fayetteville, the Greater Fayetteville Chamber and the Fayetteville Community Center. Bring your chair.

Also on Friday, the square’s newest shop, Timeless Maison, is holding an Open House. Check it out and give a warm welcome to owner Brittany Rouse.

Utility Payments 

Just a reminder that the City only accepts utility payments at Fayette Savings Bank from customers with an existing account. Check in with the City for lots of other payment options.

Fayetteville EDC 

The Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) will meet on Wednesday, July 8. At 7 p.m. All are all welcome to attend. Discover more about the FEDC on this website: https://www. fayetteville.texas.gov. Select Government and Economic Development Corp from the dropdown menu.

Penny Sales 

Fayetteville resident David Arambula is announcing the upcoming launch of Lincoln Penny Sales, specializing in the buying and selling of U.S. coins and coin supplies. Stay tuned for more details.

Mobile Food Pantry 

The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, July 8 from 10 to 11 a.m. Walk up to the entrance and bring bags or carts for pickup.

St. Paul Lutheran Church 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic 

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 5 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church 

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
