The Bugle Boy hosted its second annual Sound Engineering Boot Camp as part of ARTS for Rural Texas’ summer camp programs. The Bugle Boy’s Head Sound Engineer Ryan Lee, who has a degree from Texas State’s Sound Recording Technology program, taught sound engineering basics to seven students ranging from 7th – 12th grades this month. For their final class, the students set the stage and helped run sound for the Bugle Boy’s Friday show featuring Dallas Burrow with Stirling Finlay. Dallas gave the students tips on being a sound engineer as a touring musician and the co-owner of New Braunfels’ Red Bird Listening Room. The Bugle Boy believes in supporting not only independent singer-songwriters, but the next generation of music professionals.
