Bernice Kollaja Celebrates Her 99th Birthday

Fayette County’s Bernice Kollaja recently celebrated her 99th birthday on Aug. 8 surrounded by five generations of family and love.

“Born in 1927, Bernice has witnessed nearly a century of history and has created a lifetime of cherished memories, treasured stories and countless moments shared with family and friends,” the family said.

“Her greatest legacy, however, is the family she has built. Today, five generations of her family have the blessing of celebrating this special occasion with her — a beautiful testament to a life filled with love, strength, family and tradition.

“As the beloved matriarch of her family, Bernice continues to be a treasured link between generations. Her stories, memories and the love she has shared throughout her life have helped shape the family she proudly surrounds herself with today.

“Her family is incredibly grateful for the gift of having Bernice here to celebrate this extraordinary milestone together — five generations connected by one remarkable woman.”
