AMEN Serves 764 in May

The AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange appreciates all in the community that provided food assistance for the month of May. This would include all that provided monetary donations, food drives and the Amen Gardens. The gardeners have been providing beets, kale, carrots and many other leafy vegetables.

A recap for the month provides the following statistics: 257 families were served, which represented 764 individuals served.

Donated food was 7,358 lbs. The number of volunteers was 212 for a total of 668 hours. The upcoming summer months traditionally are the slowest time of year as to food donations and monetary donations. As we all enjoy the festivities of summer, we need to remember that the need for food assistance continues.

The pantiy is open to provide products from Monday 9 till noon and open on Thursday for drop off 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Also, the pantry is open for food distribution on the first Thursday and third Thursday of the month from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
