Services for Evyline Marie Zapalac of La Grange will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger at 11 am. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. the same day with a Rosary recited at 10:30 a.m., all events with be at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger.

Evyline M. Zapalac of La Grange, passed away on Oct. 7, 2021 in Houston.

She was born in Frelsburg on Nov. 11, 1929 to Vaclav and Mary (Kulhanek) Dvorak. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include three children, Sylvester “Sonny” Zapalac and wife Terry of Victoria, JoAnn Holcomb and husband Barry of Pearland, and Gloria Drabek and husband John of Sugar Land; two brothers, Wilbert Dvorak of Frelsburg, and Jerry Dvorak and wife Barbara of Columbus; grandchildren, Tracy Simek and husband Louis of Ammannsville, Matthew Tarter and wife Casey of La Grange, Melanie Bertsch and husband Landry of Plum, Jennifer Tarter of La Porte, Colby Drabek and wife Michelle of East Bernard, Shelby Storts and husband Justin of Bay City, Lindsey Holcomb of Pearland, Tammy Fulbright and husband Greg of Brenham, Darlene Edenfield and husband John, Monica and April Krueger of Brenham, Mark Krueger and wife Fabby of Terlingua, Rowdy Zapalac and wife Jenn of California, Chance Zapalac of Austin, Gary Thomas of Kerrville, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sylvester; son, Kenneth; daughters, Bobbie Jean Tarter and Janice Garcia; brothers, Raymond, Justin, and Victor Dvorak; sisters, Bessie Wilde and Lydia Evanicky; sisters-in-law, Louise, Doris, and Charlene Dvorak.
