Burnie Alfred Wolff, 96, of Round Top, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020.

Burnie was born in Round Top on April 27, 1924, the son of Richard and Alma (Hoffmann) Wolff.

Burnie attended Quade School in Winedale. He was baptized on July 13, 1924, and confirmed on Oct. 2, 1938, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top.

Burnie married Nelvira Braun on Aug. 3, 1946 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. They were married for 74 years.

Burnie’s livelihood was running a self-sufficient familyowned farm including chickens, hogs, and raising multiple crops. He and Nelvira planted and worked a large garden that provided food for the entire family. He enjoyed tending to his cattle, taking his dogs as companions, into his 90’s. He also enjoyed spending time with his greatgrandchildren.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department, Farm Bureau, and Hermann Son’s of Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Nelvira (Braun) Wolff of Round Top; two sons: Larry Wolff and wife, Doris of Round Top; James Wolff and wife, Florence of Brenham; four grandchildren: Dedra Wolff; Erin Feldmann and husband, E.B.; Kristy (Wolff) Cochran and husband, Jerry; Jennifer (Wolff) Anderson and husband, William; seven greatgrandchildren: Troop, Storm, and Dutch Feldmann; Ellie Anderson; Elizabeth, JD and Jacob Cochran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Alice (Wolff), and brother-in-law Reginald Hackemack; and nephew Ralph Hackemack.

A private memorial service will be held.
