Raymond Villanueva, Jr. passed away on Saturday, May 9, in the Care Inn Nursing Home in La Grange. He was 67.
Bom in La Grange on May 2, 1953, Raymond was the son of Fidencio and Julia (Tobar) Villanueva. He was a retired construction and field worker, and had resided in the Plum and La Grange area his entire life.
Visitation services were held on Wednesday, May 13, from 12 until 6 p.m. at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, La Grange. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 14, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Fayette Memorial Chapel, followed by interment in the La Grange City Cemetery.
Surviving are four daughters, Ann Rodriguez of La Grange, Stacy Taylor and husband Trevor of La Grange, Christina Serrano and husband Steven of College Station, and Marcia Martinez and husband Louis of Lockhart; one son, Gabriel Villanueva and wife Ida of Plum; six sisters, Dominga (Minnie) Rosales of Needville, Candelaria (Mary) Soto and husband Lionso of Bastrop, Anita (Annie) Villanueva of La Grange, Isadora (Dora) Villanueva of Bastrop, San Juanita (Janie) Arreguin and husband Paul of Lockhart, and Celia Foerster and husband Gary of Giddings; one brother, Leroy Villanueva and wife Lestell (Stell) of Richmond; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Angel Villanueva; a granddaughter, Lisa Villanueva; and a grandson, Miguel Angel Rodriguez.
The family requests that memorial donations be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.
