Martha (Zalman) Vasek, 93, of Pearland, entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.

Martha was born in Fayetteville on April 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Kristina (Kolodejcek) and Jochim Zalman.

She is survived by one brother-in-law, Anton T. (Tom) Vasek; one sister-in-law, Mary Jane Darnell; four nephews: Richard Zalman, Jerry Zalman, Barry Vasek, and Jonathan Darnell,; four nieces: Lisa Kana, Meg Brown, Allison Groppe, and Jennifer Darnell; special cousins A.J. and Rosie Hrbacek; her sister in Christ, Rosemary Marmolejo who lovingly cared for Martha during the end of her life. Martha loved her like a daughter; faithful caregivers: Susan Pierce and Pat Paider; and her special neighbor, Alice Garza.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Felix Twumasi officiating. Burial will be held at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange.
