Tschatschula

Florence “Flo” Ruth (Unger) Tschatschula, 89, of La Grange, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020.

Florence was born in Winchester on Nov. 8, 1931, the daughter of Martin Unger and Frieda (Richter) Unger.

Florence married Calvin Tschatschula on Nov. 27, 1949, in Winchester. The couple was blessed with two children.

Florence was a beautician. She also worked for H-E-B for 22 years until her retirement. Florence was a hard worker who always wore a friendly smile.

She loved quilting and crocheting in her free time and enjoyed watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. She was a talented cook. On top of being a grandmother, she was beloved by all the children she babysat. She brought her bright personality into the community while working for H-E-B. She was the happiest while playing and winning a game of dominoes with anyone willing to play. Florence also secretly enjoyed fishing, and “out-fishing” all the boys.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim Martin; son, Kevin Tschatschula; former son-in-law, Jim Martin; former daughter-in-law, Gladys Tschatschula, all of La Grange; five grandchildren: Lauren (Martin) Matocha and husband, Noah; Courtney Tschatschula of La Grange; Jessica Drab and husband, Dustin of La Grange; Dylan Tschatschula of La Grange; Brayden Martin of Cedar Park; one great-grandson, Tesian James Matocha.

She was preceded in death by parents: Martin and Frieda Unger; husband, Calvin Tschatschula; brother, Marvin Unger and grandson, Brandon Schulze.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020. Burial followed at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Winchester.
