Mary Frances Taylor, 91, died on Feb. 2, 2022 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia. Funeral Services were held Monday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at Flatonia United Methodist Church in Flatonia with Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Born on Oct. 29, 1930 in Flatonia, she was the daughter of Charlie and Matilda (Hoyer) Brunner. She married Lewis Lee Taylor on Feb. 6, 1946 in Flatonia.

She worked for Cook Optometry, managed the Lyric Theater, was a checkout clerk for Joe Greive and Bowdy Migl, managed the Bucek Dairy Mart and retired from Flatonia ISD helping with the kid’s lunchroom duties.

Mary enjoyed selling Mary Kay to all her customers over the years. Christmas was her favorite time having Mary Kay parties at her house. Mary also enjoyed traveling with Elsy Tours seeing many wonderful sites. She was a life long member of First United Methodist church; loved singing in the choir and preparing luncheons.

Survivors include: son, Carl Taylor, and wife Sue, of Flatonia; son, Kenneth Taylor and wife, Debbie of La Grange; five grandchildren, Johnnie Lynn Villalobos and husband Roy, Ruston Taylor and husband Ryan, Kimberly Morris and husband Ragan, Matthew Taylor and wife Lauren, Brian Taylor and friend Kayla Chiles; eight great-grandchildren, Shaylen Taylor, Wade Taylor, Taylor Morris, Emersyn Morris, Gavin Taylor Coleman, Braden Taylor Coleman, Adrian Villalobos, Lacy Grubb; and two great-great grandchildren, Rory Grubb, and Zoey Grubb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Taylor; son, Johnnie Taylor; her parents, Charlie and Matilda (Hoyer) Brunner; brothers, Edmund, Reynold, and Edgar; and sister-in-laws, Kate, Helen, and Martha.

Memorials can be made to the Flatonia United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.

Serving as pallbearers were: Ruston Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Brian Taylor, Ragan Morris, Roy Villalobos and Dr. Ryan Coleman.
