Selzer
Dorothy Ann (Poncik) Selzer, 82, of Ellinger, TX passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021.
Dorothy was born in Colorado County, Texas on January 25, 1939, the daughter of the late Frank Joe and Bertha (Ruether) Poncik.
She married the love of her life, Raymond Selzer on February 1, 1976, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger.
Both Dorothy and Raymond ran and operated Humble Gas Service Station located in Ellinger from 1970 to 1983. Shortly after, Dorothy worked for a period of time at Hruska’s.
She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and of the Ellinger Hermann Sons Lodge #30.
Dorothy enjoyed to crochet, and after retiring she would travel to craft shows with Raymond to sell her crotchet pieces. Most of all, Dorothy truly cherished spending time with her family and friends who meant the world to her.
Dorothy is survived by two sisters: Rosie Hrbacek and her husband, Amos and Bessie Hoffmann all of La Grange, TX; sister-in-law, Pauline Poncik of East Bernard, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of dear friends that cared deeply for Dorothy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of thirty-three years, Raymond Selzer; and two brothers: Edward and Laddie Poncik.
In an abundance of caution due to the recent COVID-19 operating procedures, the funeral home and church asks that face masks be worn and that social distancing be observed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange.
A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger. The funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to the St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery, P.O. Box 57, Fayetteville, TX 78940.
