Schultze
Heidelinde “Heidi” (Kaczmarek) Schultze, 75, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021.
She was born in Kolbermoor, Germany on Aug. 31, 1945, the daughter of the late Julieanna (Kufer) and Marion Kaczmarek.
Heidi met the love of her life, Richard Schultze, while he was stationed in Germany and serving in the United States Army. They met while attending a military event, and it was love at first sight for both Richard and Heidi. The couple married three months later in Bamberg, Germany on Sept. 26, 1969.
She moved with Richard to the United States at the age of twenty-four, and they began their lives together in Long Island, NY. Heidi was truly a devoted wife to her husband. She played a major role, even early on in their marriage, by helping to support their household while he was deployed during the Vietnam War.
Heidi worked as a midwife in Germany and labor & delivery nurse on Long Island for close to a decade. After Richard and Heidi started their family, she dedicated her life to being a full-time wife and mother.
Throughout her lifetime, Heidi traveled and lived all over the world, including London, Japan, Norway, and France.
Heidi took cooking classes while living in different countries and enjoyed cooking globally for her family and friends. Some of her other hobbies included playing bridge and spades, interior home design, making floral arrangements, creating beautiful stencil work in homes and antiques.
Heidi adored her family and held a special place in her heart for her four granddaughters. She will be remembered by both her family and friends as showing love and kindness to all around her.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Richard Schultze; son, David Schultze and girlfriend, Priscilla Gonzales of San Antonio; two daughters: Christine Brown and husband, John Mark of Hallettsville; and Jennifer Ferrante and husband, Tony of Austin; sister in law, Janet Parker and husband, Buzz of La Grange; four granddaughters: Regan and Rebecca Brown; and Kyla and Claire Ferrante; along with many dear friends that will miss her immensely.
Heidi was preceded in death by her brother Roman, parents, Gene and Julie Crabb of Modesto, CA and in-laws Harold and Edna Schultze of Schulenberg.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
