Richard Doss Roberts, 87, passed away on Feb. 22, 2022 in La Grange.

Visitation and funeral services for Richard Roberts will be held on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange with interment at La Grange City Cemetery.

Richard Roberts was born in La Grange to Mike Benjamin and Evelyn Lorene (Meneke) Roberts. He married Vivian Bass on Nov. 14,1985. Richard lettered in all sports in High School that he participated in. He had a great passion for the La Grange Jaycee’s Demons baseball team in which he also played in. He enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, washers and camping. He had a love for pets, especially dogs.

Richard is survived by his children; Sheilah Popp, Richard Charles Roberts (Dayvid da Silva), Shelly Zbranek (Zeebo), Denise Speckels (Bruce) and Sandra Roberts Rodriguez (Jesse); brother, John Charles Roberts (Eugina); grandchildren; Ashley Virnau, Bridgette Popp, Brodie Popp, Lezli Thomas, Lauren Ponder, Kaylyn Pages; twelve great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews and special friends, Pat Clark and Ted Schneider.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Roberts; parents, Mike Benjamin and Evelyn Lorene (Meneke) Roberts; son-in-law, Craig Popp; brother, Billy Mike Roberts and sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean; sister, Florice Zapalac and brother-in-law, Lester Zapalac.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter (240 Svboda Lane, La Grange, Texas 78945), The Remnant Academy (3007 Cedar Creek Drive, La Grange, Texas 78945) or to a charity of one’s choice.
