William “Lee” Richards, 74, of La Grange passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021.

Lee was born in Lockhart on May 4, 1947, the son of William F. Richards and Anna Louise Lee. He married Susan Michalk on June 9, 1989 in La Grange.

Lee was a lifetime Funeral Director and founder of Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, building birdhouses, and feeding the many birds and squirrels that visited his backyard.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, of 32 years; stepson, Phillip Hunter and wife, Sydna, of New Braunfels; stepdaughter, Angela Vlasek and husband, David, of La Grange; sister, Georgia Michalka and husband, Mike, of La Grange; seven grandchildren: Ethan, Chase, Braden, Brianna, Ashley, Trey, Hunter and Taren; and one great granddaughter, Amitty. Also his niece, Leigh Ann Sodek and husband, Chris, and their children, Duke and Summer.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Richards; and mother, Lou Hatterman and stepfather, Glenn Hattermann.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Funeral services will follow at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations beginning at 2 p.m. with burial at La Grange City Cemetery.
