Charles also donated his time and resources in helping continue the tradition of the Fayette County Fair. Charles was a huge supporter of the local Little League Association and an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Charles was a true family man in every sense of the word. He was a devoted father and friend but his favorite title was Grandpa. Outside of family, Charles enjoyed the many friendships that he had built over the years with folks in the community.
