Jones

Richard Leslie Jones, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sept. 30, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on Jan. 20, 1941, in Kane, Pa.

Richard built a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and enjoyment of the outdoors. He owned his own business, Control Panel Specialists, and took pride in his work. Outside of work, he loved outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing pool and the good times shared with others.

One of the great joys of Richard’s life was his marriage to Irene. He married Irene on Dec. 29, 1978, in China, Texas, and they shared 48 years of marriage together. Their years together were an important part of his life and a lasting source of love and companionship.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Jones, and his mother, Hildur (Gullekson) Jones; by his son, Robin Jones; and by his brother, Leonard Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Jones; his stepson, Kenny Wayne Robertson and wife, Jessica; his brother, David Milton Jones and wife, Deborah; his grandson, Chris Robin Jones; and his granddaughters, Ashley Robertson and Malia Robertson. He will be remembered with love by his family and by those who knew him.

Richard will be dearly missed.
