Miller
Marilyn Ann (Frank) Miller, 90, of La Grange passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021.
Marilyn was born in Yoakum on April 29, 1930, the second of three children born to George Albert Frank, Sr. and Mary Bertha (Mueller) Frank. In 1933, the family moved to a farm 11 miles outside of Alice where Marilyn grew up. She graduated from Alice High School in 1948.
She attended Texas Lutheran College for a year and went on to work as a secretary in a law firm in Alice. In 1951, Marilyn was recruited to return to TLC as a staff member where she worked as a financial secretary. This is where she met her husband, Wilbert 0. “Red” Miller who was serving as a coach and Dean of Men. They moved to Columbus after being married on Aug. 16, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alice.
Marilyn had her first child, William Wayne in 1954, followed by Neal Frank in 1956 and Michael Alan in 1959. After many years working at the Columbus Hospital, the family moved to La Grange in 1959. Marilyn became the secretary of St Paul Lutheran Church in 1967. She served twenty-three years before retiring to enjoy her grandchildren, family, church and traveling with Red.
She was a member of the St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Ladies Aide Circle and was a member of the Central Texas Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Marilyn was a Texan through and through. She grew up on a south Texas ranch and even rode a horse to elementary school. She loved her church. Marilyn taught Sunday school for many years, and later in life became a member of a Bible study group called the “Afternoon Circle.” She was an avid doll collector and a talented seamstress. Family was what she loved most Marilyn was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother.
She is survived by three sons, William “Bill” Miller and his wife, Dayna of New Braunfels; Neal Miller and his wife, Deanna of La Grange; and Michael Miller and his wife, Cindy of Floresville; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wilbert.
In an abundance of caution due to the recent COVID-19 operating procedures, the funeral home will be following the recommendations of the Governor and County Judge. Face masks must be worn in the funeral home and social distancing up to six feet apart must be observed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be present to receive friends.
A private family graveside service will be held at the United Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
