Ruby (Lina) Mikulin, 104, of La Grange, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021.

Ruby was born on Sept. 7, 1916 in Caldwell to the late Fred and Frances (Pohorelsky) Lina.

She married the love of her life, Victor Pete Mikulin on Nov. 25, 1939 in Hempstead. Ruby and Victor were blessed to have shared fifty-eight years of marriage until his passing in December of 1997.

Ruby worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston in their Medical Records Department. Victor and Ruby moved to the La Grange community in 1992 and settled into the peacefulness of small town living.

Family meant everything to Ruby. She devoted her entire life to caring for her children and later became a proud grandmother. Ruby held a special place in her heart for her beloved grandsons that lovingly called her “Granny.”

The family would enjoy coming to Granny’s house where they could always expect to have a delicious meal prepared. Ruby also loved making holidays and birthdays special for her family every year.

In her younger years, Ruby enjoyed bowling, dancing, and taking time out to go to the deer camp with her family.

Ruby’s family will miss her dearly, but feel comforted knowing that she has now gained her angel wings and joins some of her precious family members in heaven.

Ruby is survived by one son, Paul Mikulin and wife, Diana of La Grange; son-in-law, E.E. Parrish of Conroe; sister-in-law, Lillie Kinchen of Dickinson; three grandchildren: Paul Parrish and wife, Kristy of New Caney; Tony Mikulin of Ridgecrest, Calif.; and Mark Mikulin and wife, Susannah of La Grange, TX; four great-grandchildren: Holden and Holly Mikulin, Alexis Krolczyk and Brooklynn Kelley; along with numerous nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor Pete Mikulin; one daughter, Frances Parrish; two brothers: Alton Lina and wife, Joyce; and Harold Lina; three sisters: Mittie Knittel and husband, Lawrence, Johnnie B. Smith and husband, Arnold, and her infant sister.

A visitation was held at the La Grange Cemetery’s gazebo prior to the service on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The graveside service followed at 11 a.m., held also at the gazebo.
