Wayne Marvin Miertschin, 54, of La Grange, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021.

Wayne was born in La Grange on March 31, 1966, the son of Marvin and Estlean (Schuler) Miertschin.

He worked for Walmart in La Grange in sales and also stocked merchandise in the sporting goods department for many years.

Wayne was an avid bowler. He has numerous trophies to prove it. At one time, he even ran the La Grange Bowling Alley. When he wasn’t involved in bowling, he was either fishing or golfing with friends. Wayne loved the outdoors.

Around his family, Wayne liked being silly to make them laugh. He really enjoyed the many family trips to the casinos.

He is survived by his sister, Sherri Coufal and husband, Joe, of Fayetteville; aunt, Ruby Tielsch of La Grange; uncle, Clinton “C.R.” Miertschin and wife, Amanda, of Dripping Springs; cousins: Jennifer Calloway and husband, Richard; Connie Pechal; Laurie Mackey and husband, Eric; and Bill Miertschin and wife, Heidi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: Otto and Alvina Schuler, Ben Mi-ertschin and Alma Sury.

In an abundance of caution due to the recent COVID-19 operating procedures, the funeral home will be following the recommendations of the Governor and County Judge. Facemasks must be worn in the funeral home and social distancing up to six feet apart must be observed.

Visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations.

Private funeral services and burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin St., La Grange, TX 78945.
