McKinzie

Born on Sept. 2, 1952, in Isleta (El Paso), Texas, Jerrie Darlene McKinzie entered the world as a blessing to her parents, Alva Willis “Bill” Jones and Hettie Mae Jones. After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, she went home to be with Jesus on March 5, 2026, surrounded by love in her home in Black Jack (Rockdale).

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale, with her husband, Pastor Ellis McKinzie, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday, March 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
