Jesse McDaniel, Jr. of Carmine, passed away at home on Aug. 28, 2021.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1967 to Jesse Lee McDaniel and Frances Ann Burton in Jacinto City. Jesse was baptized as a teenager at the First Baptist Church of Jacinto City. Jesse joined the United States Navy serving on aircraft carriers Kitty Hawk and Nimitz. Jesse met the love of his life, Wendy Ullrich, while they worked at Continental Airlines, then married on Aug. 20, 1991.
Jesse was a founder and member of Fayette County Bee Keepers and a member of the Fayette County Fair Association, assisting with the poultry exhibit for several years. He got his passion for bees and gardening from his grandfather. Jesse especially loved taking his two rescue dogs, Gabby and Peanut for a ride in his truck. (Jesse swears he doesn’t have any dogs!) Jesse was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his five granddaughters.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Wendy McDaniel; parents, Jesse Lee McDaniel Sr. and wife Debbie of Crockett; his mother, Frances Ann Ezell and step-father, Travis of Hunstville; two daughters, Cassie McDaniel and Erryn Havard and husband Sean, both of Lufkin; brother, Shannon McDaniel; and five granddaughters, Lily, Ella, Olivia, Audry, and Emory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter (240 Svboda Lane, La Grange, Texas 78945), Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine (211 Luther Lane, Carmine, Texas 78932), or to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fayette Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in La Grange.
