Lorna Mae Bailey McCraw, 99, of Baytown, passed away May 22, 2021.

She was born in Slaughters, Ky. on July 7, 1921, to Seth and Jessie Bailey.

She graduated from La Grange High School in 1939. She worked as a clerk for the Selective Service/Draftboard from 1940-1942, 1952-1974, then worked as Church Secretary at Grace Methodist Church for 25 years, retiring in 1999.

She was a member of Grace Methodist Church for over 70 years, NARFE, 42 club for 55 years, volunteered at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, Curt’s Kitchen, and church. She was the Baytown Unsung Hero of 2004, and loved and enjoyed her Lord, family, friends, church, and travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Seth and Jessie Bailey; her daughter, Pamela; her grandson, Nicholas Armstrong; granddaughter, Hilari Wolfe; brothers, Malcom, Durwood, Lanny, E. B. Bailey; and sister, Joyce Payne.

She is survived by her husband of 79 years, Leon McCraw; son, Dr. Ron McCraw; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and George Armstrong; grandson, Josh Armstrong; great grandson, Ethan Wolfe and his dad Mike Wolfe, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX 77521.

Visitation was held from 12-1 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, with memorial service that followed and began at 1 p.m., at Cedar Bayou Grace Alexander Chapel, 2714 Ferry Rd., Baytown, TX 77520.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Curt’s Kitchen, MBS at Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church or to Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Baytown.
