Leschper

Lena Edna Leschper, 81, of Sealy passed away with family by her side on May 18, 2020.

She was born on Oct. 30, 1938 in La Grange to Alvin and Lena Behrens. Edna married Lewis Cypher Sr. on Nov. 9, 1956. Mr. Cypher passed away June 7, 1968 in a boating accident. On Dec. 6, 1969 she married Adolph Leschper. Together they created a life in Sealy and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last December.

Edna worked as a waitress most of her early years before becoming a seamstress at Sealy Mattress. In the early 80s she began work at the Countryside Motel as a manager. She finished her working years as a manager of Best Western Inn of Sealy when she retired in 2001.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Adolph; her children: daughters, Betty Lutz, Mary Rosselli, and Bonnie Reames and husband Derral; and son, Lewis Cypher Jr., all of Sealy; one brother, Monroe Behrens and wife Betty; sisters, Mildred Buscha and Dorothy Witt and husband Dale, all of La Grange; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her first husband; her parents; three brothers, Loui Behrens, Lee Behrens and Alvin Behrens Jr.; one sister, Gladys Simek; grandaughter, Jessica Hills; daugther, Deborah Guerrero and Helen Rother.

Edna enjoyed playing dominoes with family, putting together puzzles, watching soap operas and Hallmark movies and spending time with her family. She was an amazing wife, mother and granny to all her grandkids. She will always be remembered for her smile, her strong will and her giving and loving heart. She will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends.

A family service was held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 officiated by Pastor Ken Bersche at Trinity Lutheran Church of Sealy. Burial followed in the La Grange City Cemetery.
