Krebs
Nolan Harry Krebs, 86, of Shelby passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station.
Nolan was born on the family farm in Shelby on April 9, 1935, the son of Bruno and Edmunda (Reichelt) Krebs. He was baptized on Aug. 25, 1935 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby by Pastor Bosshard. On April 10, 1949, Nolan was confirmed by Pastor William Feller at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby.
Nolan met the love of his life, Genelle Stolle, at a dance in Warrenton. They married on Dec. 2, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange.
Nolan attended school in Shelby and Fayetteville. He worked on the family farm until he became employed for a short time at Public Laundry in Houston. Nolan worked multiple jobs to earn a living ranging from farming, cattle ranching, custom hay baling and custom cotton picking and caged laying hens. After several years, Nolan went to work at Lindemann Store in Industry hauling bulk feed. His next career was owner/operator of an 18-wheel gravel truck. Nolan also started Industry LP Gas Company in Industry.
Nolan loved playing baseball, earning him the nickname “Bullet.” He loved to dance, fish, deer and coon hunt. He especially enjoyed going to his place in Mason.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby, member of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department and Hermann Sons.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Genelle (Stolle) Krebs; daughter, Marsha Jasek (Norman) of Shelby; daughter, Janet Vacha (Bryan) of Kenney; grandchildren: Amanda Merta (James); Derrick Jasek (Jessica); Tanner Vacha (Jordan Jackson); Cody Vacha (Taylor Swearingen); great grandchildren: Zachary Merta; Hollace and Cassidy Jasek; sister-in-law, Dorothy Stolle of La Grange; and numerous nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Edmunda Krebs; brothers: Kernis Krebs and Larry Krebs.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations.
Funeral Services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shelby, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. A private family burial will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Krebs Family Cemetery.
