Kallus
Gladys Marie (Zbranek) Kallus, 67, of Austin entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, May 21, 2021.
Gladys was born in La Grange, on Aug. 12, 1953, the daughter of Alfred Anton and Mary Agnes (Sedlacek) Zbranek.
She graduated from La Grange High School in 1971.
Gladys married the love of her life, Michael Kallus on Sept. 26, 1981 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. They were blessed with four children: Brandon, Richard, Darrian, and Caitlyn.
She worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years including State Farm Insurance, JCPenney, and Neubus in Austin.
Gladys was a devoted wife and mother and a true symbol of strength to her entire family. She was also a woman with strong faith that never waivered.
Gladys was a member of KJZT for many years. In her spare time, Gladys enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes, and loved to sew. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, Michael Kallus; three sons: Brandon Kallus of Round Rock; Richard Kallus of Cypress; and Darrian Kallus of Austin; one daughter, Caitlyn Kallus of San Francisco, Calif.; two brothers: Leonard Zbranek and wife, Barbara; and Larry Zbranek; one sister, Patricia Zigal and husband, Mark, all of La Grange; seven sisters-in-law: Margaret Lamon, Alice Chovanec, Cathy Goerig, Monica Spacek, Mary Baca and husband, J Roy, Helen Faldyn and husband, Clarence, and Bibiana Demel and husband, Wilbert; one brother-in-law, Benedict Kallus and wife, Dianna; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents: Alfred and Mary Zbranek; father- and mother-in-law: Richard and Frances Kallus, along with sister-in-law, Elaine Zbranek and Rita Goerig, and several brothers-in-law, Patrick Lamon, Frank Chovanec, Ralph Goerig, and Riney Spacek.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Holy Rosary was recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services were held at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin, Texas or to Hospice Austin.
