Johnson

William “John” Johnson, 67, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021.

John was born in Pierre, South Dakota on Aug. 5, 1954, the son of Vershall Osgood and Ida Mae (Brechtbill) Johnson.

John married the love of his life, Clara Hermes, on Nov. 15, 2007 in Giddings.

He worked most of his life in the oil and gas industry. Most recently, John worked as an equipment operator for KRL in Blue.

In his spare time, John loved spending time at home with his family. He enjoyed mechanic work as a hobby.

John was the type of person that never met a stranger. He loved socializing with his buddies while enjoying a “cold one.”

He is survived by his loving wife, Clara (Hermes) Johnson; children: Cindy Johnson Jacobs and husband, Donald Jr. of Smithville; Shawn Johnson; John Johnson and wife, Amanda of Smithville; Clayton Hildebrand and wife, Amy of Caldwell; Brent Koslan and wife, Savanah of Lincoln; Clarissa Kovar of Lincoln; Faith Irwin and husband, Thomas of Giddings; and Autumn Varvel and husband, Nick of Franklin; along with multiple grandchildren and one great grandchild.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carolyn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
