Janda

Rosalie Marie (Hauser) Janda, 99, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020.

Rosalie was born in the Cedar Community in Fayette County on March 1, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Rainosek) Hauser.

She married George Edward Janda on Sept. 30, 1940, in Hostyn. George and Rosalie shared a beautiful marriage of 52 years until his passing in October of 1992.

Rosalie dedicated her life to care for her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother to her children: Patricia, Jane, and James.

Rosalie cared for her family’s farm, and also worked for Franklin Plant Nursery in La Grange.

She was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn and a member of KJZT.

Some of Rosalie’s hobbies included quilting and gardening. It also brought her great joy to bake for her family, and was especially known for her delicious kolaches.

Rosalie is survived by her two daughters: Patricia Davison and husband, Edwin of Schertz and Jane Copeland and husband, Richard of La Grange; sister, Bernice Johse of La Grange; daughter-in-law, Linda Janda of DeSoto; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, George; son, James Janda; brother, George Hauser, and her infant brother, Frank Hauser.

The family would like to thank the staff of Jefferson Place for all of the care and kindness that they showed to Rosalie over the past four years.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations.

A private family funeral mass will be held.
