Hrachovy
Violet Elaine Hrachovy, known lovingly as Violet, passed from this life on April 24, 2026, in Schulenburg, just four days before her 93rd birthday.
She was born on April 28, 1933, in Weimar to a life that would be marked by devotion to her family, faith, and the many simple joys that brought people together.
Violet was a woman whose life reflected the Catholic values she held dear. She was loving, passionate, and thoughtful in all she did, and those qualities were evident to everyone blessed to know her. Her life was grounded in faith, and she found strength and comfort through her relationship with the Lord and through her church community. She was a faithful presence at St. Phillip Neri and Holy Family Catholic Church, where she took part in church activities and shared in fellowship with others who walked alongside her in faith.
Violet attended Weimar High School and graduated in 1949 at the young age of 16. Even from an early age, she showed determination and a strong work ethic that would carry through every season of her life. She later dedicated 26 years of service to Grocers Supply, retiring in 1994 after a long and faithful career. Her years of work reflected her sense of responsibility and commitment, and she carried herself with quiet dignity in all that she did.
Family was the heart of Violet’s life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband JC Hrachovy, daughters Debbie Holubec, Peggy VanVliet, granddaughter Tiffany Hrachovy, as well as by her son-in-law, Patrick Janda.
She is survived by her brother, Floyd Trefny, daughter, Patsy Janda and son, Bobby Hrachovy and his wife, Sandra. Violet cherished her children deeply and took great pride in the family they built, a family rooted in love, respect, and togetherness. She was a treasured grandmother to Kenny Holubec and his spouse Mica, Shelly Bergeron and her spouse Brad, James Janda and his spouse Sara, Kevin Janda and his spouse Sarah, Chad Hrachovy and his spouse Heather, Leah Cantu and her spouse Jarrett, and Jeannifer Lober and her spouse Matt. Violet also delighted in her great-grandchildren, Rylee and Lane Holubec, Abby and Kyle Bergeron, Zoe and Caden Janda, Charlotte and JC Janda, Layne and Chase Hrachovy, Addison and Kennedy Cantu, and Lexie and Matthew Lober.
Her family brought her great joy, and she loved each generation with a generous and steady heart. Violet enjoyed the company of family and friends and especially treasured camping trips and casino trips that created lasting memories and plenty of laughter. She also found happiness in cooking, where her meals became expressions of love and care for those gathered around her table. She enjoyed bingo, bunco, card games, and domino games, and these simple pleasures often brought her into the company of those she loved most. Her home and her presence were warm places, filled with kindness, conversation, and the comfort of familiar traditions.
Those who knew Violet will remember her for the way she made others feel valued and loved. She was thoughtful in her words, passionate in her devotion, and loving in all of her relationships. Her life was a testimony to faith, perseverance, and the beauty of a life lived in service to family and God. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind and in the many memories she helped create. May Violet Elaine Hrachovy rest in the eternal peace of Christ, reunited with those who have gone before her, and may her loved ones be comforted by the promise of everlasting life and the hope of God’s grace.
