Eugene George Hrachovy, 78, of La Grange passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

Eugene was born on Jan. 8, 1943, the son of John and Annie (Dusek) Hrachovy, in Hostyn. He spent his childhood on the family farm and developed a passion for farming. After graduating from Bishop Forest High School, Schulenburg in 1961, he went on to work for RC Cola in La Grange, Fayette County, City of La Grange and Prime Industries. He later retired and spent his days tending to his farm and raising hogs and calves. He enjoyed listening to good polka music and watching game shows on television.

Eugene was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Hostyn, Knights of Columbus, KJT, and Farm Bureau.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Sharon Lemon and husband, Robert, of Caldwell; two sons, Daniel Hrachovy and wife, Amanda of Houston and Timothy Hrachovy and wife, Dana of Sealy, TX; sister-in-laws, Dolores Hrachovy of Schulenburg, and Bonnie Hrachovy of Round Top; and six grandchildren, Robyn Lemon, Matthew Lemon, Connor Hrachovy, Jack Hrachovy, Trevor Hrachovy and Daegan Hrachovy; along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

He will be missed by his loving four legged companions, Maxie, Buddy Black and Buddy Brown.

Special thanks is given to his devoted caregivers, Maria Cruz, Lauren Wetjen and Joseph Mole (papa).

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Rose Ann and John Otis Marek; brothers: Leon Hrachovy, Laddie Hrachovy and infant brother, Alois Hrachovy.

In an abundance of caution due to the recent COVID-19 operating procedures, the funeral home will be following the recommendations of the Governor and County Judge. Face masks must be worn in the church and at the funeral home along with social distancing up to six feet apart being observed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will then follow at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 936 FM 2436 La Grange, Texas 78945.
