Glenn Howard Fox, age 86, of Round Top passed away on Dec. 20, 2020.

Glenn was born on Nov. 11, 1934 in Houston to Howard and Elizabeth (Kies) Fuchs. He married Jo Ann Icke on June 16, 1956 in San Antonio after meeting her at St. Paul Lutheran Church while stationed at the Fort Sam Houston Army Base.

Glenn attended Jefferson Davis High School in Houston and the University of Houston. He proudly served his country stateside from 1954 to 1956 in the United States Army where he was honorably discharged. He worked at the Bank of the Southwest in Houston in the data processing department, moved to Couch Mortgage of Houston where he established and managed the data processing department and later started Fox Mortgage Services. After retiring to Round Top, he made friends of young and old by working part time at Round Top Farm and Ranch Supply and volunteering to read with students at RT-C Elementary School. He was a member and served as commander of the American Legion Post #338 in Round Top. He was very active in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, sang in the choir and praise team and enjoyed visiting with everyone after Sunday service. Glenn excelled at basketball, volleyball and softball in high school and passed his love of sports on to his sons. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching wildlife and he loved to laugh and tease. He always had a vegetable garden and would share the bounty with friends and family. Ann, his wife of 64 years; sons Michael Fox and wife Jan of Houston, Wayne Fox of Conroe, Kenneth Fox and his son Jordan Fox of Tacoma, WA., sister Sha ron and husband George Lem of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Fuchs and sister Betty Maneval.

The family wants to extend special appreciation to sister Sharon for her support and all family members and friends for their phone calls and cards to Glenn during this time of quarantine. The healthcare workers that befriended and cared for him in the last months of life are also deserving of special recognition.

Funeral services are entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home of Houston. A graveside service will be held at Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 2:15 p.m. Assembly begins at 2 p.m. at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive-Lane 2. COVID protocol of masks and social distancing will be required.
