Dominic “Don” Alvin Psencik
Dominic “Don” Alvin Psencik, 81, born on May 12, 1939, to Joe and Bessie Psencik in La Grange, died on Dec. 22, 2020, in Houston due to complications resulting from the COVID virus.
Don moved to Houston and met the love of his life, Jo Ann Venarske and they got married on Sept. 24, 1961 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum. They had two daughters, Diana Lynn and Marsha.
Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2917 for 39 years and served as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and District Deputy, as well as serving on many other committees.
Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo Ann Psencik; daughter, Marsha Ward, and grand-daughter, Madison Ward; brother-in-law, Jim Venarske and his wife, Maria; nephews and a niece.
Don was preceded in death by his baby brother, Joseph A. Psencik, Jr.; his parents, Joe and Bessie Psencik; his in-laws, Lawrence and Helen Venarske; and his daughter, Diana Psencik.
A visitation was held for the family Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at Joseph J. Earthman Generations in Houston.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m., with a Rosary led by the Knights of Columbus at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Houston. The Rite of Committal was held at Resthaven Cemetery in Houston.
