Funeral services for Raymond Herbert Domel, 95, of Fayetteville, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb., 8, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. Interment will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery also in Fayetteville.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.

Mr. Domel passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Fayettevile, Feb. 2, 2022.

Raymond was born July 23, 1926 to Herman Domel and Laura (Oeser) Domel in Fayettevile.

Raymond was always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and was very active in the community. He worked at auctions and the feedmill, he was on the Fayetteville ISD School Board, and was a member of St. Paul Church Council. In his spare time, he would cook for the Annual Turkey Stew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louis and Alfred Domel; sisters, Irene Noak and Elna Wendler; and granddaughter, Nicole Goerig.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Lillie (Carrizales) Domel of Fayetteville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and David Goerig of Fayetteville; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Isidor Wendler of Marble Falls, Eugene and Rose Urbanovsky; sister-in-law, Gertrude Rocha; grandchildren, Tyler and Madelyn Goerig, Taylor Goerig, Tara and Trey Townsend, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church and American Parkinson Disease Association.
