Peggie Jo (Urbani) Creuzbaur, 70, of La Grange, passed away on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020.

Peggie was born in Galveston on Nov. 19, 1949, daughter of Louis and Rosemarie (Curtino) Urbani.

Peggie graduated from Ball High and received her bachelor’s degree from UH Clear Lake.

Peggie married Bobby Creuzbaur on Jan. 24, 1970, in Galveston. The couple was blessed with three daughters: Amanda, Shelly and Bobbie Jo.

Peggie Creuzbaur was an Office Assistant for Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hostyn, and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Plum. She started as a volunteer and then was hired in 2010. Peggie was the friendly voice that answered the phone at the parish office. She scheduled the volunteers to serve at the Masses at Holy Rosary Church. She was a trainer for the Diocesan Safe Environment program.

She made sure there were always Children’s Bulletins ready for the pastor to hand out after Mass. Peggie was a member of one of the Scholarship Breakfast Teams and Coordinator of the Bereavement Ministry for Holy Rosary, helping families organize the funeral luncheons, and contacting parish families to provide the desserts.

Peggie loved working with the youth of the parishes. The highlight of the year for Peggie was definitely Vacation Bible School. She took over as Director of VBS several years ago and her joy and dedication impacted many children and their families. She assisted in the coordination of the religious education programs, including making sure everyone completed and handed in the paperwork and forms required, keeping the paperwork organized, facilitating sessions and serving as a substitute catechist and hall monitor. Peggie was key to the success of the Young Neighbors in Action and Just5Days teams, especially with fundraisers and preparing for service weeks.

She is survived by three daughters: Amanda Creuzbaur (Tiffany) of Austin; Shelly (Arnold) Zapalac of La Grange; and Bobbie Jo Creuzbaur of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren: Brook and Bryson; sisters, Judy Banks (Bruce) of Hitchcock, Rosemarie Urbani and Kitty Urbani of Galveston; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Rosemarie Urbani; husband Bobby Creuzbaur and in-laws Chester and Benita Creuzbaur.
