Kenneth Hamp Cobb, 81, of La Grange, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday March 15, 2021. He was lovingly called by the nickname KC by friends.

Kenneth was born on November 19, 1939 in Buna, Texas to the late Dixon and Autrey (Mattox) Cobb.

He served his country honorably for multiple years in the United States Marine Corps.

While stationed in Las Vegas, Kenneth met and married the incredible and loving Eleanor “Ellie” Warburton on November 16, 1963 in her hometown of Stevensville, Montana. They were later blessed with two daughters: Kelly and Melissa.

After serving in the Marine Corp, KC worked for 11 years at BF Goodrich Chemical Company in Orange, TX. He then continued his career, working for over twenty-years for LCRA Power Plant. KC retired in 1997, as a Power Plant Production Supervisor.

He was a member of the LaFayette Masonic Lodge #34 of La Grange. He achieved the title of Past Master on June 27, 1991. KC was extremely proud of his service to the lodge.

Kenneth loved to play golf especially with his golf buddies who had named their group the “Ancient Athletes.” In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the time he spent at home as an apiarist (beekeeper). He did so until the bees decided they wanted to be free and swarmed him. Thus, this ended the bee keeping adventure. He made lasting friendships with his coworkers at LCRA, some even continued to talk to him, and would make it a point to join in on their coffee club group at least once a month. When together they solved the world’s mysteries and cured world hunger. A good time was had by all.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor “Ellie” Cobb; two daughters: Kelly Cobb of Houston, TX and Melissa Cobb Vladyka of Buda, TX; one sister, Kay Simmons of Buna, TX; and three granddaughters: Molly, Claire, and Emily Vladyka all of Austin, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of incredible and caring friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dixon and Autrey Cobb; brother, Jimmy Cobb; brother-in-law, Harold Simmons. His beloved dog, Loretta also preceded him in death as well.
