Private family services for Sandy Christiansen, 72 of Giddings, will be held at a later date.

Sandra “Sandy” Kaye Christiansen was born on Jan. 28, 1948 in Lincoln to Elton “Happy” and Isabella “Bella” (Nittsche) Proske. She worked for the City of Giddings as City Secretary for over two decades. One of her favorite things to do was watch anything that had to do with sports or criminal investigations. Sandy loved animals and adopted all of her pets from local animal shelters. Her faith was very important to her, and she cherished her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Sandy passed away early in the morning of Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 in Moody.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Happy and Bella Proske.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Johnnie Christiansen of Giddings; son, Guy and Kassy Havel of Giddings; daughter, Kacy and Jason Lavender of Moody; sister, Barbara and Bobby Gilbert of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Sydni Havel, Paige Havel, Bristen Behrens, Braeden Behrens, Luke Lavender, and Alyssa Lavender; fur babies, Gracie and Ima Cat, and many other family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to a local animal shelter or to the charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
