Bayless

Scott Curtis Bayless, 71, of La Grange passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021.

Scott was born in Richwood, W. Va. on April 7, 1950, the son of Melvin Bayless and Hazel (Bellville) Schneider. He married Judy Janca on May 15, 1971 in Cistern.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 2, 1970 and was honorably discharged on June 1, 1976. Scott graduated from the Texas Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Academy. He was employed as a Texas State Trooper retiring on Jan. 1, 2000 with 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Bayless of 50 years; daughter, Stacy Hill of Caldwell; daughter, Nikki Beseda and husband, Rodney, of Fayetteville; son, Shaun Bayless and wife, Angie, of Lampasas; daughter, Amanda Cernosek and husband, Christopher, of Hostyn; brother, Bruce Bayless and wife, Emilia, of Shiner; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Henning and husband, Richard, of La Grange; fourteen grandchildren: Kelsy Maupin and husband, Steven; Jacie Hill; Dal Brackman; Cole Brackman, Luke Beseda; Scotti Beseda; Jackson Beseda; Lydia Beseda; Kori Bayless; Graci Bayless; Bowman Bayless; Abby Cernosek; Cody Cernosek; and Whitley Cernosek; and one great grandchild, Darby Maupin.

He was preceded in death by his father and step mother, Melvin and Ora Bayless; mother, Hazel Schneider; brother, Keith Bayless; and grandson, Tanner Bayless.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home and Cremations with family present.

A memorial service will be held at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hostyn, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022. Burial will follow at Hostyn Catholic Cemetery.
