Mildred Bayer, beloved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on Aug. 14, in Houston at the age of 84. She was born to Alfred and Hulda Kainer on Nov. 18, 1936.
Proceeded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Wilbert of Houston.
She is survived by her loving husband, E.J.; her two sisters, Marilyn Adamcik and Estella Kobza; brother, Thomas Kainer; and four children, Gregory, Dwayne, Randy and Kimberly and their spouses. Further survived by her eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers were Andrew Adamcik, Michael Adamcik, Brandon Bayer, Gary Kainer, Travis Kainer, Phillip Redding and alternates were Garet Smith and Tony Smith.
Mildred and E.J. were high school sweethearts while attending Schulenburg High School. They would have been married 65 years on this Oct. 27. As E.J. often said, he fell in love with Mildred when he was 14 years old, which was 70 years ago.
Mildred and E.J. lived in Houston till 1999 when they moved into their custom built beautiful new dream home between Ammannsville and Dubina.
Mildred loved to dance, attend party dances and dinner parties. She enjoyed traveling which included all over the United States, 15 cruises and Europe, Hawaii, Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Alaska and the Virgin Islands. E.J. said that Mildred would “sparkle” on these trips and parties.
She became an avid Houston Astros fan and also loved to watch the Texans play.
Mildred sang beautifully. Many times she would sing with the band and even on the cruise ships.
Mildred loved her family and everyone who met her would immediately love her. She was a loving and beautiful person.
Mildred worked at Texaco in data processing until the babies came and became a fulltime mother and homemaker. She gave them unconditional love and is honored on Mother’s Day every year. She also was a wonderful grandmother. After the children were grown, she became an Avon sales rep. She made the President’s Club eight times due to high volume of sales. She treated her customers like her best friends and helped them buy the products best suited to their needs.
She will be extremely missed by her family and many friends.
