Julius Edward Bartek went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of April 20, 2026, just two days after celebrating his 79th birthday. He passed peacefully at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, where he had been hospitalized for two weeks.

He is survived by his wife Clara; children Darren Bartek (Roxanne) of Sealy, Tara Dilley (Dwayne) of Weimar, and Rhonda Unruh (Joshua) of New Braunfels; and his grandchildren, Laci, Kalyn, Grasyn and Clay. He is also survived by his brothers Curtis, Doug, and Delphin Bartek and sisters Melanie Kosler and Cheryl Dornak.

He is further survived by extended family, including stepson John L. Gray, stepdaughter Tina A. Gray, and grandchildren Evangeline and Lawrence Gray, as well as many other family members and numerous dear friends.

Julius is preceded in death by his parents, Alfons Julius and Dolores Ducho Bartek; his first wife, Wanda Darlene Volkmann Bartek; three of his siblings Duane, Brian and Trudi Bartek, one nephew Justin Bartek, and other aunts, uncles and family members.

Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Weimar. Interment of ashes took place at Weimar Masonic Cemetery.
