Warren Armstrong, 95, of La Grange, passed away on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021.

Warren was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sept. 12, 1926, the son of Wendell and Hyldred (Wold) Armstrong.

Warren retired from Cargill working in the management level in the U.S. and International divisions. He was Mayor of Columbia Heights, MN, board member of Miracle Farms in Brenham, Lions Club member and served as President from 1985-86, served on multiple boards with First United Methodist Church, served as Board of Director with Colorado Valley Bank (Pioneer Bank) and was instrumental in the development of the La Grange airport.

He loved to travel with his wife, Adrienne; family and friends.

He is survived by his adoring wife, Adrienne Armstrong; sons: Dean (Deb) Armstrong, Jud Armstrong, Reed (Laura) Armstrong; daughter, Ann Armstrong; brother, Neal (Kathy) Armstrong; brothers-in-law: Phil (Peggy) Granovsky; Ted (Claudia) Granovsky; sisters-in-law: Marcia Armstrong and Janis Bailey; stepson, Rex (Maria) Grey; grandchildren: Kerry Gamble, Jessica Sweeney, Karen and Jonathan Armstrong, Rebecca Corso, Rex D. Grey; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Sandra Armstrong and baby, Melissa; and spouse, Natalie Armstrong; brothers: Ted and Bruce Armstrong; sister, Carol O’Neal; brother-in-law, Bill Bailey; and sister-in-law, Natalie (Gary) Gnauck.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Jan. 15, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in La Grange.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Hospice Brazos Valley, Parkinson’s Foundation, Alzheimer’s Foundation, or American Heart Association.
