Mabel Elizabeth (Beth) Anderson, 89, of Houston departed this life July 1, 2021.

Beth was born to William and Mabel Pounds on July 31, 1931 in Ocoee, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ret. Colonel Gerald W. Anderson.

She is survived by her son, Scott Anderson; daughter, Sonia Miller and husband Randy; grandchildren, Shannon Stevenson and husband Dave, Cley Miller, Jon Anderson and Will Anderson; great grandchildren, Chandler, Caroline and Andy Stevenson.

Beth’s passion for creating beautiful art was always a part of her life. Inspired by her surroundings living in Florida, Japan, Hawaii and Texas, she fervently painted what she loved and knew: the land around her. Her unique perspective and creative spirit added whimsy and beauty to all her pieces, including her egg, thistle and church ladies.

Beth particularly loved painting the rolling hills, small wooden barns and painted churches near her former home in Round Top and surrounding Fayette County.

Services will be held at Houston National Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16.
