Library Summer Reading Program Begins

The Fayette Public Library’s free summer reading program began this week, with the kickoff event on Wednesday, June 8. A big crowd, shown above, showed up. The theme for the program this summer is ‘Oceans of Possibilities’ and will feature exciting seathemed activities for children of all ages throughout the summer. Events are held every Wednesday beginning at 10:15 a.m. on the library grounds. Next week’s event is “Crocodile Encounter.” Photo by MaKenzie Givan

The Juneteenth on the Square event will be held this Saturday, June 11 in downtown La Grange. Schedule of Events: Noon until 1 p.m.

Festival Hill’s 51st Season Begins This Weekend

The 51st Round Top Music Festival concert series opens Saturday, June 11 in the Festival Concert Hall in Round Top. The Opening Chamber Music Concert at 3:30 p.m. will feature music by A. Vivaldi, J.S. Bach and Maurice Ravel among others, performed by our esteemed faculty and young artists.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on June 1, Deputy Seth Nagel Conducted a traffic stop which lead to the arrest of a male suspect for several criminal offenses. Nagel conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a vehicle for a traffic violation in the La Grange area.
