Updated Property Tax Information Now Available for Texas Taxpayers

New and updated property tax information has just been compiled by Fayette County Appraisal District and is available now to assist taxpayers. This property tax information is current and covers a wide range of topics, such as taxpayer remedies, exemptions and appraisals and has information for select groups, such as disabled veterans and persons age 65 or older.

On WednesdayApril 10, at approximately 4:46 pm, Sgt. Ryan Meagher of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 gray Hyundai Sonata for a traffic infraction in the La Grange area.

Downtown Warrenton Scorched by Fire

A fire in downtown Warrenton Thursday morning destroyed two structures and also damaged the Warrenton fire station. When firefighters arrived shortly after 5 a.m., they were able to safely get a pair of fire trucks out of the station to fight the blaze, which started just feet away and had spread to the attic of the fire station.

Agencies Blasted Over Wildfire Oversight

C APITAL Highlights State agencies and regulators were heavily criticized at a Texas legislative hearing for failing to communicate during the deadly Panhandle wildfires, the Texas Tribune reported. The three-day hearing, held in Pampa, investigated the Smokehouse Creek fire and others that burned more than a million acres, destroyed hundreds of homes, killed up to 10,000 cattle and resulted in two deaths.
