Women Celebrate Right to Vote

Women Celebrate Right to Vote

On Aug. 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment of the Constitution guaranteeing women the right to vote was officially adopted. Smith-McMillan Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) salute the courageous women that struggled for over 70 years to give this privilege today. Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage is Lois Wink, outgoing regent, Smith-McMillan Chapter, NSDAR. Wink poses beside the 2014 National Level First Place Quilt on display at the Fayette County Courthouse.
